On our recent trip to Myrtle Beach, we had a send off party for the competitive dance group we took. Each age group gives each other gifts at the party, the night before we head out. It's always a fun send off, but can rack your brain trying to come up with something original.
Not quite sure how I came up with 'Beach in a Jar', it wasn't my first idea, but for some reason I thought it would be super easy.
Super easy, that is, to put together. I wasn't thinking of cost, and I really should of. M&M's can be pricy, whoops...
We managed to make them stretch through out all of the jars and they turned out pretty spiffy. It's amazing what a little, or actually a LOT, of brown sugar (for sand), bookoos of light blue and dark blue M&M's (for the ocean), swedish fish (sharks were the talk of last year's trip :)), red octupus, and toothpicks & paper (beach signs) combined can make....
I am really digging these for a kids party, filled with all sorts of goodies!!
To many more,
A
