pinterest and stripes

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways, why pinterest continues to rock my world....

I have a serious infatuation with stripes, they have been in every house that we have lived in, and have painted them in numerous customers homes.

So I am trying out new ideas for the current house we are in and I love that my little brain can go gaga over all the stripes when I search for it in pinterest.....can you say losing track of time?????

Wednesday's Wearings, #4

I was super excited to get back in the chair and post again, especially for our series, What makes you be you, and wear what you do?

That is, until I saw my pictures, the 12 year old took super fast the other day.

Let me backtrack back to the reason for this post....fashion. As I have said many times before, I love dresses, especially simple ones as this one being shown. It's a Chelsea & Violet and I am head OVER heels for this brand. My brain turns to mush and my stomach turns when I walk past this section when I am out. I could literally buy up every piece they have....and don't get me started on when they have a sale.

So the first picture turned out so-so....because you know how much I dislike pics of myself....

And then the wind started..

And kept going...

And did NOT stop....soon with the dirt deciding to join. I can't explain how BAD the rest turned out. They were NOT very lady like, that's for sure. This is a reason to NOT wear a dress. Dirt in the lip gloss + hair in the lip gloss + skin being doused down by dirt and gusts of wind = the feeling you need a shower. (I can already hear my mom telling me I should of worn a slip :)

Music Mondays, Kings of Leon

This is a late Monday post...but better late than never, right??

I am so insanely behind on posting, so this is short and sweet.

I listened to this CD like CRAZY when I first got it and then haven't in a while. So we busted it out on the way home from Myrtle Beach the other day, and had truly forgotten how much I loved it!

Music Mondays, Weezer and Myrlte Beach

Hello, hello, hello!!!

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. We finally arrived in Myrtle Beach yesterday, and after a long and insane hotel mix-up, we are all settled tonight, whew!

Sorry if this post is bad and lacking on pics. Super bummed, I had planned on posting everyday of our travels over the ,10 day period, but can not get the laptop to work, grr.... So here I am posting from my phone....I have NO idea how this will turn out!!

Newest Feature and a Road trip

Wendy posted my Retro Kitchen. It was actually the fan favorite from last week. That means on The Shabby Nest has people vote on their favorite link from the week and the 35th Street Kitchen was it, total happiness!!!

In other news, we headed out early this morn for our cross country road trip. We are driving...yes driving to Myrtle Beach. Evidently we thought it would be a good idea, and then this morning came and I think we were rethinking our decision...but today flew by with two 12 year olds and a best bud at my side.

We are shacked up in Shreveport, LA for our first night...had a late night swimming and an even later dinner. We are all extremely stuffed, tired, but the silliness has NOT gone away...even as I am typing there is intense giggling.

Tomorrow we head out for Birmingham, AL. We are excited to head out and take our time (kind of) and sight see a wee little bit.

I will be attempting to blog from the road, on the misters old laptop...it's honestly not that old...by my 9 year old has 'tweaked' it and it has taken me over an hour to do this post. Notice there are NO pictures?? It keeps telling me I have NO memory left...sigh.... Maybe I will figure it out tomorrow....

Crushing On...Danielle Oakley Interiors

Ok...I have to admit it...

I have been crushing on a blog for a little while now, and decided to do a quick post (since we are headed out cross country) on her and her personal space.

LOVE LOVE LOVE

I ran across her blog a while back and immediately stopped because we have the same console unit (hers in yellow for the tele, mine in black for the entry), pillows in her home, and the colors throughout.

I was/am major crushing on her chevron curtains in the living.

I love her use of color, being able to mix different ones in together, and I am also slightly obsessed with stripes. I have painted big bold stripes in our past three homes (one thing I truly, truly miss) and for multiple clients, going both vertical and horizontal, metallic to flat. So needless to say, I am totally DIGGING her daughters room.

Her dining room light resembles one that I just finished up putting in in a clients kitchen.

How can you not love her style??

Wednesday's Wearings, #3

Good Wednesday! It's time for What makes you be you, and dress the way you do?

Sorry for getting this up late...we are trying to get packed for a cross country road trip, so I picked a dress that I wore on an evening out with many great friends.

We attended a dinner for the Parade of Homes, for our area on Saturday night, and we all had a blast!!

The evening got a little, or actually alot, goofy...and you can tell from the pictures where all the goofiness had started. It just multiplied from there. We laughed so hard, and most of it was from watching people dance ;)

(Why do I have to make stupid faces in pics? I dunno...I look at it and think 'what was I thinking??')
