Day 11 ~ Something Blue

I had originally taken a pic of these tiny, glass vases that sit on my window sill above the sink for my Day 11 pic...

But had totally forgotten about taking a bunch yesterday while the mister was attempting to teach our smallest to ride her bike without help.

I had a few of the 'little mister'. He is wearing blue, as you can clearly see, and it kind of hit me hard.

I have already been an emotional wreck lately, have said goodbye to two family members just in the past few weeks along with numerous other things, then over the weekend, the school the offspring attend lost yet another. He was only 17 and it has been consuming me, thinking of this and his family. When I saw these pictures, my immediate thoughts went to this, on what would I do if I lost one of mine, or how did we survive all the crazy things we did...

This is NOT somewhere I like to go, but you can't help to not. Huge prayers go out to the Mercer family.

Hug on them and love on them a little more than usual today...

Day 10 ~ 30 Day Photo Challenge

Day 10 ~ Childhood Memory

Walking in this morning to the youngest offsprings room, and it never fails you will step on something sharp, hard and pokey, and then proceed to curse violently as you pick up a limb of a Barbie or tiny Disney princess.

My sisters and I could play for DAYS, non stop with Barbies. We would make our rooms, hallways & my moms room into our towns or homes. No, we did not have the Barbie Dream House, but we had something better. 2000 sqft of my parents house to make into Barbie's Dream Home.

And did we ever....

I love that over half of these Barbie's are mine that I had when I was little. SUrprisingly have held up well. Sure a few heads are missing here and there, like when we were little, but it happens when there is a small tangle or vigorous dancing is involved. Never fails though that Ken's legs pop of when hopping into the vette and his head usually is right behind. We can never seem to find the heads....

I am extremely curious what Kelly & Leslie's are....

Knappa Do You Wanna Wappa?

I have been eyeballing a light fixture from one of my top 5 favorite places to visit...(drumroll)...Ikea. Now I know a lot of who don't particularly like this store, but I dig it.

My lovely in-laws were in Colorado a few weeks back and she texted saying they were there and wondered if there was anything they could grab for me.

Hells yes there is. And no, I did not say that. I probably responded with a 'that would be quite lovely' or something along those lines.

I want to switch out the entry way with this and was aiming for when I finished the fish scale wall, but since Ireeka Ikea doesn't ship, that never happened.

So those beaut's up above came packaged like this, seriously? This is teeny...

And once opened, good times. I heart assembly, pshhhh...

Awesome, assembly book, guess I was thinking I would not have it with this light...

When I purchased this one, I knew there would be...slight difference...

Don't you just love the instruction book without words, but large, shapeless he/she's with cankles?

All I know is I have to make it 'click' 16 times, sahweetness...

Here we go, one click down...

Almost there...

Done. Not as big as I wanted, but I still dig it.

Any thoughts?!? If I am going to keep it for the entry, gotta figure out a way to hand it and cover the hole that the previous light has made.

We are in the teens...

13 years that is...my how time has flown. Some was bad, some was good, a lot was ugly, but it was ALL great. We are still standing and here.

What more can be said? Not a whole lot, except a few thoughts when you see my facial expressions. Why oh why do I do this?

We don't have many pics of just us together, and most of these are with a camera on a phone so the quality is not to great...
