New Years Eve...

We aren't talking about any other thing that is going on today, because I am refusing to get older and have anymore birthdays, in fact I told the hubs last night that I am refusing to get older, just as I did last year, but evidently I didn't proclaim it loud enough. So I said it louder this year, and he told me just to pretend I am younger, pshhh...we will just move on now and discuss New Years Eve...

What are your plans? Hope they are fabulous and with the ones who make you the happiest in life.

Newest Girl

A friend had asked if I could recover one of her chairs and have it ready in time before Christmas Eve, she was having her family over for Christmas...

I said yes, thinking 'I still have a little under a week', hmm...evidently I work better under pressure.

Anywho, my friend, who is an awesome photographer might I add, had already started to recover her a while back and had asked me a few months ago if I could finish it out. We finally finished up the conversation last week. So when I went to pick it up, this is where she had gotten:

We decided to change it up. I had some black paint and she had different fabric... So I took all the fabric and staples out of her to start new, and took her out back for a fresh coat of paint...

I knew all of those old InStyle's would come in handy...

I scared the four year old when she came out, thought I should show what I looked like when I did...

While I was waiting on the paint to dry, another friend called about some name tags for her girl's scooters. I busted out the laminator, I did have 24 hours of so-called waiting afterall...

Here she is, after the drying time, waiting to be recovered...

And the final result:

Not the best final result pictures, I took them in her entry way as I dropped it off with the hubs and three kiddos waiting impatiently in the car, but hopefully you get the idea!

Winter Song

Sara Bareilles plus Ingrid Michaelson equals amazing. I guess if it's not eye candy is it ear candy? Just a thought...

Kind of in a funk this week, for many, many reasons. My head is swirling and this song kind of hit the mark...

Rice Krispies Sushi Tutuorial

I have had several ask about the Rice Krispie Sushi that I made for my son's Geek Squad Party I posted about back in the fall. It's crazy easy, the 12 year old helped me with it while I put together the other snacks.

I am not a huge fan, not at all, of the pre-made rice krispie treats, I totally dig the homemade ones. BUT, I used the premade one because I ran out of time they are more compact and easier to cut out. I looked and looked for a small circle cookie cutter, like for biscuits, and looked.

and looked...

Finally, went into Bed Bath and Beyond and found this little doodad...Said it was for cupcakes, to take the center out and put filler in...
It was perfect. I took the premade rice krispie treat, put it on the cutting board and was able to get two circles out of one treat. We ended up using the left over scraps to squish together and make more.

Smash it down and push the button to get the treat out...

I took the snack size fruit roll-up, I picked the multi-fruit flavor for the colors. We all really like strawberry, but opted for looks ;). I had to press more than cut to get it sliced.

So, if I can correctly add, that means one rice krispie treat and one snack size fruit roll-up makes two sushi's...or is it two sush-i?

Start by placing the treat on it's side and line it at the top of the roll-up. They will stick together crazy good...

Continue to roll to the end of the roll-up...

Flip over, and wrap it up, bottom-side-side-top...

A slight smudging might be required to make it stick...

And viola... My plan was to add green food coloring on the rice krispie, but again, I ran out of time the kids probably wouldn't of eaten it...

I canNOT explain how crazy good these were. I think we ate a whole box before we even made it to the party. And then ate more... the little geeks turned into little walking, screaming sushi..

I am planning on doing more food tutorials from this party, everything was super easy.

This is the piece that I have been blabbing about over the past few weeks. I'm not going to lie, was totally skeptical at first, before I actually saw it, but once I touched it, I was hooked.

It is fabuloso...

Just saw that OK! Magazine just featured the Pegasus in a roundup of "Metallics for the Holidays", and there is still time left for Holiday shipping!!

Pure awesomeness....
