Chocolate Cobbler

oh yeah,
you read that right...

chocolate C.O.B.B.L.E.R....

not pudding, not bars, not melting in your hand,
just glorified cobbler.

So yes, that deserves a bigger Oh Yeah, just like Mr Koolaid and his fine self.

The MIL had made this and said how wonderful it was
and also mentioned she grabbed it off of my friends blog...what the?

yeah, if you haven't come across Leslie's blog yet,
you need to check.yo.self and
click HERE to scadaddle on over there.
She has some of the best grub there is, not to mention photography & grass fed beef...

Anywho, so I, and my over complicated self (because I always blow
everything out of proportion and make even jello hard to make)
decided to take on this easy task and make it for our small life group.

wait. small group. life group. life is small group... lifes small church group. small church life group.
one of these things is not like the other.
{I am in dire need of sleep, and it's already early morn...}

I doubled this and cannot tell you how easy it was to make. easier than a easy bake...

{image provided is NOT my own, as I was too hungry to be a photog, it's courtesy of BakeOrBreak}

Ingredients:
1 & 1/4 cups granulated sugar, divided
1 cup all-purpose flour
7 tablespoons cocoa, divided
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 & 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 & 1/2 cups hot water

Preheat oven to 350°.
Stir together 3/4 cup sugar, flour, 3 tablespoons cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk, butter, and vanilla, mixing until smooth. Pour into an ungreased 8-inch square glass baking pan.
In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar, and 4 tablespoons cocoa. Sprinkle evenly over batter. Pour hot water over the top. Do not stir.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until center is almost set. Let stand for 15 minutes, then serve. Use the chocolate sauce in the bottom of the pan to spoon over servings. Add some flava flav, if wanted, with ice cream or whipped cream.
