Casual Friday Link Up

I have no outfit for this week, boo....

sitting there staring at me.

camera cord. anywhere.

As is life this week, especially today.

Begin to unload goods at the house,

meeting peeps who are installing various items.

garage door won't open.

Put together a desk for the mac,

only to find out after I finish that it is backwards....and upside down.

Is that possible you ask?

yes, yes it is.

De-assemble like a mad woman so I can grab the little humans and no time reassemble, leave it as is.

Garage Door won't open.

grab kids, go to target.

why can I never remember to go to Target BEFORE I get them is a mystery to me.

back to the house.

kids slither through fine white powder outside.

could of been flour, could of been crack, I dunno.

what I do know, is he decided to walk through the house.

awesome.

husband calls.

he is locked out of his parents house, where we are staying.

who locked him out?

we haven't been home.

blame it on the little humans.

we don't have a key......

go to dinner and text MIL to see if they have a key.

they do, fabulousness.

husband goes out to truck, keypad won't work, keys are inside.

how much greatness can one day hold? wait, it gets better.

while texting the MIL again, he comes in and said he got it.

see, it got better....for a brief moment.

head to husbands shop to pick up more items,

while the little humans slither in motor oil.

the six year old comes running out, screaming and crying, along with the 11 year old yelling.

toilet overflowed, and it scared her, horribly. poor first world child, she had never seen this.

clean up the mess, 

go back to house to unload items.

GARAGE DOOR WON'T OPEN

head back to in-laws.

remembered gymnastics and dance from three hours prior.

Style Files 

This weeks wear is going to be a tad different....

mainly because I have been running in chucks and t's around town

attempting to get some-what ready to move in.

One of the biggest questions I get, when it comes to what I wear,
is how I find what I find.

Especially F21.

Most I talk to either never go in there, can't stand the music, hate searching, 

think it is just for their daughters...pshhh.... and on and on.

Can't even begin to say how much I love it.

Obviously I am not 18 or 21 for that matter.

orrrrr 25, bleh.

But I am definitely not ready to hit up that row of stores,
you know which ones I am talking about:

I decided to go in, super fast, and throw together a few things, not anything crazy.

DIY Painted Rug

This was actually my last DIY before the fire.

Think it had been down a little less than a week.

Kind of forgot about it till I ran across the images in my photo stream from my phone.

So, the quality isn't great, but you can get the general idea,

and take a project that should take two or so days to more than 60,

just as I did....

Excuse the vacuum in the corner. At least I have proof I can turn on a vacuum.

I had been on the hunt for a fabulous rug that I could paint, after seeing DIY Rugs all over the intrawebs and

that the price wouldn't make the bile rise.

ikea, thank you.

My fabulous in-laws were in Dallas and grabbed this for me.

Our entry way was long and narrow, had a hard time deciding on size.

I will say I loved it...it was lined on the back, no need for a rug pad.

Went back and forth on colors and patterns after laying it out, 

but in my true form, I stuck with what I always do.

She actually thought it was a giant paper towel roll...

Hate that I don't have my step by step pics...

I did tape off the fabric edge. You could paint it, I was more worried about it cracking and flaking off later.

I used an outdoor paint for the white. It flexes so it would be better for spills, traffic, vacuuming (once), and if I needed to roll it up or anything, it wouldn't crack.

I cut in with a sponge and a tiny brush, and rolled everything else.

It took two heavy/three light coats. It just soaked in, so I almost used a full gallon.

Be sure and weigh it down, it tends to curl up.

Big time.

This should have been a day or two project.

but not for this chick.

I am beyond awesome at dragging things out by getting distracted by

eating,

blogging,

taking the oldest to Disneyland to perform in the Christmas Day Parade,

and eating some more.

So it sat.

for a month.

And this little fella decided to visit it,

and take a break on it...

touch up #1.

I used black Rustoleum patio-type paint for the black.

It took two coats plus touch ups, really gotta smush it down it the grooves.

Lightly sanded it after it dried. Originally didn't want to, but it was just too stiff.

Also, after I did, I realized it would be better for wear and tear.

Thinking I will have to conquer a few more of these for the next casa
